The school started in 1927, and is managed by the Assagao Union ( now the Assagao Association ) a charitable Trust founded in 1923 and registered on 16th April, 1925, under the societies registration act XXI of 1860 and on 16-05-1953 under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 ( Bom XXIX of 1950 )

The aim of the school is to impart an all round education to the children of Assagao and the surrounding villages regardless of caste and creed. Great stress is laid not only on studies but also on moral instruction, character building, physical training, sports and games.

It is recognised by the S.S.C. Board of the Government of Goa, and prepares pupils for the S.S.C. Examination.
